Megan Stanley - Project 3

1. I think the Quick Selection tool was easiest to use in most cases, once I got the hang of adding and subtracting areas...

2. Learning how to repeat and adjust size of the images in a composite is useful, as well as rearranging layers to change the way things appear.

3. I'd use these tools in various future creative projects, such as photo collages for family/friends, publishing work, creating graphics for websites, etc.

4. I always use the Command + X or C or V to Cut, Copy, and Paste, as well as Command + S to save, and I found that applying these shortcuts to the photoshop projects saves a lot of time over the course of the project. I also used Command + M for the Move tool a few times. Some of the shortcuts included with the tools became complicated as I'm trying to hold the mouse button and hold 'option' and 'shift' and remembering to let go of which one in the right order....

5. As you can see, I didn't include the gradient because each of my selections has a white "padding" surrounding it (I noted this on my web page also). I'm not sure why it's there, because the black and white background images don't have it -- only the transparent ones. Adding the gradient made it really stand out and look awful, but I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I'm guessing it has something to do with a setting applied in the drop shadow effect...
