Project 3

My favorite image was the to go paper coffee cup with the white background and stroke effect. I really love how simple and straightforward it is. I used the magnetic lasso tool to select it- very easy.

Which selection tools did you think worked best for specific elements in an image? My favorite selection tool is the magnetic lasso selection tool. I even learned a cool trick while I was learning- I found out that after you extract the image, then use it again to select an area (in this case the coffee mug- I wanted to get rid of the color inside the handle), you can take the eraser tool and erase away- the selection tool won't let it erase the other parts that aren't selected. Super cool!

What tools/skills used to create simple composite do you think you might use again? I actually found it really easy to create new projects, and then drag and drop layers. That was awesome! And, all the effects would go with it.

How would you use these tools in future projects? I would most definitely use these tools in future projects- all of them. They all help make your image look really professional retouched. I would very much like to get better at using the selection tools too- sometimes I found those a little tricky.

What keyboard shortcuts are you using regularly now? Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+V to paste, Ctrl+Shift+N to create new layers.

What challenges did you experience in this process? I had a hard time with some of the selection tools. Sometimes they just wouldn't be quite right, so I'd have to start over. The biggest challenge for me was the elliptical marquee tool. That one is definitely going to take some practice.
